PLEASE NOTE: You can drop off food items between Dec10th and 12th at the temple if you are unable to do it on the 13th. Please make sure items do not expire at least until end of Feb 2010.

Bhagavata Saptaham is the name given to a series of discourses given in a 7-day period on the Srimad Bhagavata Maha Purana, which is one of the 18 Puranas composed by Sage Veda Vyasa. Srimad Bhagavatam's uniqueness is its emphasis on the quickest and easiest means of attaining spiritual growth for people in the present age. It was originally narrated by Sage Suka, son of Veda Vyasa to Emperor Parikshit who had only 7 days to live, when the emperor enquired of him the duties of one who is destined to die sooner or later. Srimad Bhagavatam is not only a devotional masterpiece extolling God (Bhagavan) and His devotees (Bhagavatas), but also blends in the ultimate spiritual wisdom contained in the Upanishads through the words of realized sages like Kapila.

In the 7-days of the Bhagavata Saptaham, Sri Ramanujam ji will narrate to us key episodes contained in the Purana, interspersed with kirtans and stories of contemporary saints, thus making it a sublime experience for the listeners.
